Beauty Salon
I'm preparing for a surprise night on the town and I'm looking for a "Beauty Salon/SPA" where I can take the GF to get a blow-out and get made up. I thought it would be an easy thing to find - on the old continent all you have to do is get your significant other to a beauty salon where they'll primp her out in 30 minutes and voila... you got yourself a presentable girlfriend. From my search here it seems that the beauty market is very segregated - you go to a hair salon to get your hair done, you go to nail salon to get your nails done, you go to a spa to get a facial or massage.
Any suggestions on where I can find a all inclusive beauty pit-stop?

mens haircut recommendations? My husband is looking for recommendations for a place to get a haircut. He has curly hair (medium curly) that he is interested in keeping not super short, with some sort of nice shape. He is specifically looking for someone who knows what they are doing with curly hair, and can do more than just the basic supercuts-style short clipper cut. Not too expensive would be great. Any recommendations from people with similar hair needs?

Stinky's I couldn't find much in tags about Stinky's pet grooming in Ball Square, but I wondered what recommendations I could get with regard to claw trimming there (Yelp is my good friend but there wasn't much there). Benjamin will not let me anywhere near his claws for a clipping, but now that he has largely retired from his epic scratching projects, it's got to be done. I buy pet supplies from Stinky's and have always been quite happy, and it's right across the street. Would love if it could work out for regular claw clippings, too...

Concert this Sunday @ the Burren If you don't have plans this Sunday night, come out to the Burren in Davis Square (Somerville) to hear some live music. At 8pm, John Craigie will be performing in the back room. He is a friend of someone I know. I'd like to see a good crowd.
You can hear some of his music on his myspace page. He is a very good acoustic/ folk singer and songwriter.

Pokemon and Okami, Doom and Street Fighters, Bayonetta and Person, Plus Even More! Hey there!
Yes, we're still alive. Apologizes for the lack of updates as of late... its just that a LOT has been going on everyone's end. You know how it is, we live in crazy times! Anyhow, we're going to try our best from this point forward to maintain a more regular posting schedule, though a good deal of it is up to you guys. How so? Simply send us stiff that we can share, it's as simple as that!
And since the inbox is a bit empty at the moment, may as well share some odds and ends that's been stumbled across the web. But first off, how was SPX? You'll have to ask Dave and Zack that, since I wasn't able to attend. Though I believe if you head on over to their respective LJs, you'll be sure to find a full rundown of the show, which apparently rocked, and the third collection was a smash success!
For those wondering when it'll be available online, that's being worked on at the moment, so please stay tuned!
Anyhow, I myself was at the New York Anime Fest that same weekend, which was also a fairly super cool show in its own regards. The standout was easily the artist alley, which was chock full of amazing stuff by amazing people. Though my favorite had to be the work of Efrain Farias...

Today at work Me: Wait, what are we arguing about?
Co-worker: We're not arguing.
Me: We're not?
Co-worker: No, we're just having a discussion
Me: Oh, I assumed we were arguing because we were talking.

Cancun! So... What do we do? Some of you may have heard that Laura and I are heading to Cancun for our anniversary. Yay!
I've never been to Cancun before, but some of you have. So far, we have tickets to chicken itza, which oddly enough has always been a dream of mine. What else should we do? What have you guys done there which you would recommend?

Be A Hero

Requests aren't done, they will be popping up as we go, but honestly I do not need annnyymooreee! I was looking at the Wonder Women that I drew last year and started drawing her again, because she's pretty fun to draw, and surly Wonder Woman here came out. Don't settle for being a tits and tits heroine ladies, be yourself! Poor Nibbles.
Hey Montreal! I'm going to be at Expozine this weekend! You should come.

Roommate is not paying their rent!!! I live in a house with two other roommates. The three of us were on a lease from Dec '07 through Dec '08, and have simply been tenants-at-will since then. We each pay our share of rent individully to the landlord, but my understanding is that we are responsible together for insuring that rent for the apartment is paid in full.
We received a note on the door yesterday from our landlord saying that he would like a call concerning ROOMMATE #3's rent. My other roommate called him back and learned that ROOMMATE #3 was late on this months rent, AND had not paid last months rent either. ROOMMATE #3 has also been eating our food when we are not around, and has not been paying utilities on time.
The kicker here is that ROOMMATE #3 is the ONLY member of the household with a job, and he makes good money. (Corporate Web Developer) :\
Our landlord would love to see this person go, but mainly, he just wants his money. That means that it becomes the responsibility of the other roommate and myself (the unemployed ones) to cover this gap, which is obviously difficult if not impossible for us to do.
I would like to know if anyone has been through a deadbeat roommate situation like this before, and has any words of wisdom on the legal ramifications involved. We know that we can't just kick the deadbeat out, and we don't want to loose this apartment either! (We like it here, and we have a pretty good report with the landlord since we stopped throwing late night parties a year ago!) We would love to get rid of this deadbeat!
Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank!

Lovingkindness meditation serves many purposes. It relaxes the mind, is an antidote for fear, and promotes self-awareness. Though this meditation has been taught for thousands of years as a Buddhist practice, it has many overlaps with Judaism and works beautifully in helping individuals focus on their most important goals. Its premise is that in order to develop compassion towards others, one must first develop a path toward practicing it with oneself. Rebecca Lavine is a licensed social worker and has been meditating for nearly fifteen years. She runs the Little Buddhas group at the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center.

boots stretched? Does anyone know if Savas Shoe Repair on Elm Street does shoe stretching? I have two pairs of boots, one needs the vamp (instep) stretched and the other needs the caft stretched. Neither are fully leather but canvas should also stretch with a stretcher..
If Savas doesn't do this, does anyone know any place that does? I looked into buying my own stretchers, but that would be around 300 dollars for both.
Thanks!
